Charles was desperate to take us upstream along this river, eager to show us certain rock markings and hollows as well as the tremendous force of the river channeled through various narrows. Apparently, Charles had taken a group of tourists, male and female, to this spot not too long ago, and they had all stripped and plunged in to the water, to his delight no doubt. However, he was to be disappointed by us, as we were in no gung-ho, adventurous mood today. Not only was it raining steadily (which can cause dangerous, delayed swollen rivers), but we were slithering and sliding over rocks or wading through chest high water, anxiously guarding our assorted electronic gear. I eventually succumbed to Charles' reassuring thumbs-up (seen pictured) and took the brunt of the river at the mouth of the narrow like a real man *irony*, while Charles ogled Iris standing on the riverbank in her finest swimwear... Oh, we didn't find any petroglyphs either, just some markings fashioned by the running water.
