Two Caribbean archaeologists

Some recent (and not so recent) stuff involving us...

From 2001 to 2005, I was one of the editors of Profiel, a Leiden archaeology student magazine. You can find the issues to which I contributed below (just click on the images):

May 2003: Alistair and Iris on Saint Lucia's national television news (sorry for the appalling quality!)

December 2003: Iris wrote about her MA research in the periodical Eureka

January 2005: Alistair won the LOFT/Canon photo competition. You can find more on how the picture came to be here

September 2006: Iris was on the cover of the SAA Archaeological Record

February 2009: So Caribe picks up on Amy Winehouse's visit to the Lavoutte site on St. Lucia and appends one of my photographs of archaeology on St. Lucia (yep, that's Iris again!) to the report as well as a hyperlink (to this website) to a short article on work at Giraudy published in Profiel, an archaeology magazine for students I used to edit.

January 2010: Alistair spent three wonderful weeks on beautiful St. Vincent, jointly supervising archaeological fieldwork at an Island Carib site at Argyle. The site is under threat from the construction of a new, international airport. However, the airport developers kindly facilitated our excavation and made a short film about our fieldwork. Iris visited and helped out too!
