Don't ask me how, but we somehow managed, in between excavating, to assemble a motley (and unlikely?) crew to play a few "friendly" football matches against the local team, the Saba Strikers (captained by Vic ('the cannon') and comprising most of the male Colombian population of Saba). It was hard-going, on a rocky field, at a few hundred meters altitude and in rather warm temperatures. We usually lost, though on one occasion came close to pulling off a shock win, thanks mainly to the last-minute inclusion in the team of Oliver the German.
